The weekend of 12th and 13th January 2019 saw 2 days of high level competition completed at the Northern Indoor Championships, Sheffield.

Day 1 saw Kitta Hunter, James Mole, Stella Perrett, Jess Lively and Lucy Errington all go in the 60m with very solid races by all of them. Stella was only a few places off the final and Jess and Lucy progressed to semi’s and both equalled their PB’s. Guy Bracken had a really good early season 1500m to start building up his speed work.

Day 2 track action consisted of Stella progressing to the semi in her preferred 200m event with 2 great runs finishing 8th overall. Guy tackled the 3000m with another great run backing up his earlier race at Glasgow.

Turning to the field, Lucy and Jess finished 6th and 7th respectively in the Triple Jump, an excellent season opener for them. James Wordsworth, in the last event of the weekend for us, earned a superb Silver Medal in the Shot with a big PB and new Modern Club Record.

Big well done to all of them and a special mention to our official on duty, Susan Mole, and for Robert Mole who had to be scratched from his races with a quad injury.
Videos of all races can be found here.
