Eight NSPoly athletes took part last weekend in Sheffield.

 

 

In middle distance, Lucy Fitzpatrick finished 14th in the U13 800m and Katie Joslyn was 15th in the U15 800m. Josh Blevins had a straight final in the U15 800m winning the Silver Medal in a new PB and Club Record of 2m07.70s.

 

All 3 had taken part in the Inter County Schools x country yesterday so busy weekend.

 

Turning to the sprints, U15 60m, Lily Lee ran a solid 8.75s to be 4th in her heat. Joanna Irving progressed from the heat to finish 4th in the Semi and 11th overall in a new PB of 8.33s.
U13 60m, Rhys Brunton just missed the medals after progressing, finishing in 4th place overall. Maddie Barbour progressed through to Semi finishing 12th overall.

Next were the 200m, U15 both Anna and Lily progressed to a second round in an extremely competitive event, both having set PB’s in their heats of 28.69s and 29.17s respectively. U13 saw Maddie setting a huge PB of 28.98s as she progressed through, Heat and Semi finishing 6th in the final. Rhys also set a huge PB of 27.56s in his heat, through Semi and took the bronze medal in the final.

 

Finally in the field, Anna had a frustrating high jump having to take part in a 200m at a crucial time, nevertheless finishing in 12th place. Rhys, his legs suffering by now, still jumped 4.29m in the long jump earning himself the Silver Medal.

 

Brilliant day by all the athletes taking part.
